The children's author David Walliams dropped by book publisher.

The author

Acclaimed young adult author and TV personality David Walliams has been dropped by his longtime publishing house, according to an announcement.

A representative for the publisher commented: "Following a thorough review, and following the appointment of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK has chosen to cease publishing future works by David Walliams."

Reports indicate that the move was reached following an inquiry regarding allegations of questionable actions involving young women.

The company has not elaborated on the motivations for this action, stating: "It is not our policy to discuss internal matters."

A Highly Successful Writing Journey

Walliams ranks among Britain's most successful children's authors, having sold in excess of 60 million copies internationally in five dozen languages.

His inaugural foray into kids' literature, *The Boy in the Dress*, came out under HarperCollins in 2008.

Several of his books, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into television films.

He has published over four dozen titles combined, encompassing a festive story called *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins last autumn.

From Screen to Page

He first rose to fame on the TV sketch series *Little Britain* and has additionally received National Television Awards for his role as a panelist on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was awarded an OBE several years ago honoring his contributions to philanthropic and artistic endeavors.

This move occurs subsequent to the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's freshly installed boss in October.
